VELOCITY DEPENDENT DEVICES

ATLANTE Fluid Viscous Dampers (AFVDs) are anti-seismic velocity dependent devices that consist of a piston, a rod and a cylinder.

To maintain the transmitted load aligned along its major axis and avoid undesired bending effects that may be detrimental for the sealing system, the AFVD shall be equipped with spherical hinges at both ends.

ATLANTE Fluid Viscous Dampers (AFVDs) are anti-seismic units whose output is an axial force that depends on imposed velocity only; their principle of functioning consists of exploiting the reaction force of a viscous fluid forced to flow through an orifice and/or valve system.

AFVDs can be combined with ATLANTE structural bearings and even compact assembled together with them.
